Our Rat Litters
Sunshine Rattery aims to breed around four litters per year, that are well planned to produce the healthiest and most personable ratlets possible. Please go to the contacts page to email us if you would like to enquire about a current litter or go onto a waiting list for future litters.
Coco x SUN Sully - Mar '10
Coco is a stunning cinnamon silk berkshire doe with absolutely faultless health. She was bred to SUN Sully, a blue argente who is one of the most handsome and squishy bucks I've met.
She gave birth to a very chubby litter of nine on 12th March 2010. She has four does and five bucks, all of which have homes waiting for them. Six of the nine little ratlets are silks.
Coco and Sully's babies are absolutely beautiful little ratlets. We are so pleased with the outcome of the litter and Coco's mothering skills! She's a star!
We have a mix of cinnamon, dove, mink champagne, mink silverfawn and argente. A silk dove doe, a silk mink champagne doe and a silverfawn buck are staying at Sunshine Rattery for future breeding, health dependent. We can look forward to pink eyed blue silks next generation!
SUN Autumn x Amore - Dec '09
Autumn was the beautiful doe that we kept from our May litter. She was paired with Amore, a blue berkshire, who is owned by a lady in Brisbane. Amore is fourteen months old, and has no health issues. He had already produced a full blue litter, none of the blues have had bleeding issues
This litter has produced the most beautiful babies in a variety of colours; black, agouti, argente, fawn and an array of blues; blue, blue agouti, blue cinnamon, blue mink and blue argente. Most of the blues have stayed at Sunshine Rattery to continue the line and to keep a good handle on the health of the line. The rest of the litter have loving homes with breeders and pet owners in Brisbane.
Wilfred, our blue mink agouti hooded rex, had an accident which resulted in a cut to his shoulder. He bled from the cut, but the blood clotted and dried as per normal, so we are pleased to report that he does not present with any bleeding related disorders.
TRP Possum x Elwood - May '09
Possum was a beautiful double rex (blue carrier) cinnamon, and Daddy a stunning blue hooded who is owned by Carawatha Rodents. Possum's blue line has not had any bleeding issues, and neither has Elwoods line. Blue females have been bred from both lines with no excessive bleeding during the births.
Possum was supposedly a blue carrier, but none of her ratlets were blue. Even so, the ratlets from this litter were absolutely gorgeous. There were two PEW's in the litter, perhaps when they are bred they will turn out to be the blues that were expected. She had agouti, black, cinnamon, PEW, dove and fawn in her litter. The cinnamon berkshire doe, SUN Autumn, stayed at Sunshine Rattery.
The other ratlets were homed with fellow breeders and pet owners in Brisbane. Some of the girls will be bred very soon, and will hopefully produce healthy happy ratlets for their owners.
